ERMI Analysis — Vacuum Sampling Kit
For a whole-of-home mould picture using the vacuum dust collector.
The Environmental Relative Mouldiness Index (ERMI) is a DNA (qPCR) analysis of 36 mould species from a single dust sample, scored to the ERMI scale to give an overall picture of the mould burden in a building. The Vacuum kit collects settled floor dust with a dust-collector cartridge fitted to your own vacuum cleaner.
What's in the kit
- Dust collector (main holder, a cap on each end, and a filter insert)
- One re-sealable bag for the dust collector
- Sampling instructions and Chain-of-Custody (COC) form
- One pair of sterile disposable gloves
You'll also need (not supplied)
- Vacuum cleaner
- Tape measure
- Stopwatch, timer, or a clock/watch with a second hand
- A roll of masking tape (to map out the sampling area)
